At the Police Station

Legal aid is available to all those arrested or attending as volunteers for an interview with a police officer, whether you are working or not. Just call us, or get the police to call us, and we will come 24/7. No delay, no fuss, no forms to sign.

In The Magistrates Court

Legal aid is available if you pass a two-part test
Merits: This means that Legal aid will only be granted if your case is seen as serious or complicated, or you will not be able to present your own case.
Means: And if you are financially eligible, for example by being in receipt of certain benefits such as ESA or Universal Credit, or are a low earner The Legal Aid agency carry out the assessment. We will assist you with the application process. For more information on financial eligibility

Crown Court

If your case is going to be heard at the Crown Court you are likely to receive legal aid, as you will pass the merits test. Depending on your income and capital, you may have to make a contribution to the Legal Aid Agency. This will be refunded if you are found not guilty.
